We offer a restoration & repair service for large historic & listed sliding sash windows...
Old windows can sometimes look worse than they really are, with some tender loving care the original workmanship often dating back over 100 years can be restored and sympathetically upgraded...

It is usually possible to restore the windows to an almost new condition at less cost than to replace them. This is especially the case with large windows where there can be a substantial saving by working in situ and not having to remove the sash boxes and shutters...

We can in most cases double glaze the existing sashes by routing a deeper rebate, there is also the possibility of putting in  special  Georgian units with a 5mm spacing bar in cases where the original glazing bars in the sashes are typically 20mm or less...

Original historic glass that is broken can be replaced with hand rolled restoration glass to maintain the original appearance, This is often suitable for buildings that are listed...

Depending on the project, we would normally strip the old paint & where necessary the glass, repair & replace  decayed or broken timber, spray paint the boxes & sashes, re-glaze & fit weather seals , fit new brass pulley wheels, sash ropes, parting beads & new brass Fittings...
